Beginning: Definitions

The basic definitions of the religion are:

Hellenism: A religion based on that of Ancient Greece, usually classical Greece ( 6th-5th century BCE )

• This term is used by academics while Hellenic Polytheism is used by Hellenic Polytheists or Pagans. There's no difference between the terms, only personal preference.

Note: The adjective form of Hellenism is not Hellenistic, it's Hellenic.

"Hellenic" (ελληνικός) also means "Greek in nature" and it's used to characterize things that have come from Greek culture.

For example, A Hellenic person (a Greek person or a person who has grown up within the Greek culture).

Hellenistic: The period between the Death of Alexander the Great and the rise of the Roman Empire.

Hellenismos: A term used to refer to the Greek Language or the Greek way of life during the reign of Emperor Julian (A Roman Emperor).

"Hellenismos" (ελληνισμός) means "Greekness" /“Greek culture”/“Greek presence".
